Finally, a few minutes for me to come up for air! *inhales* *exhales* I’ve been crazy busy the last couple of weeks, more so last week and this week! I’ve been doing some last minute shopping for presents and whatnot. I did snag a few good deals online, which saved me a couple of trips to the mall. Shipping was free, too! A couple of presents will be delivered straight to the recipients. Cool, ei? Deals seems to be getting better and better as Christmas draws near. Stores (maybe even cigar auction sites!) are fighting over you and me and whatever’s still left in our wallets! Hahaha! I am just about done…almost! Then again, there’s still some great deals to be had after Christmas. Hee hee. *wink*
Cheers, y’all!

Yay me! I have been regularly running again since August. It took forever to recover from our Philippine vacation! I did some neighborhood runs between January and August but they were few and far between. I have run 3 races so far, between October 2nd and November 13th. Not bad at all! And after serving me well for over a year, I have finally allowed myself to replace my trusty Asics Gel Nimbus, with a pair of minimalist shoes that hubby swears by, the Saucony Kinvara. These are so last season’s (there’s now a Kinvara 2), but I don’t really care. I love that it’s lightweight! My feet and legs do feel the road more now, but they’re adjusting pretty well to my new pair of shoes.
Hubby and I, I dare say, can no longer be trusted in a sporting goods store with a credit card or cash. It is so tempting to buy running gear! I should stay away even from the pop displays! Haha! Oh well.
Cheers, y’all!

Hubby celebrated his birthday last week, Thanksgiving week. That’s one of the reasons why Thanksgiving week is all the more meaningful to our family. Per the birthday boy’s request, I made him a cheesecake, a Fudge Truffle Cheesecake. I could have made blueberry or cappuccino, but I chose a chocolate-y cheesecake. It’s a no-brainer! Hubby got his cheesecake, and I got my chocolate fix! You got me! I’m a chocoholic! Hee hee. I just might need the chocolate counterpart of a methadone detox rehab treatment center. Hee hee.
You can find the recipe for this super yummy cheesecake HERE.
Cheers, y’all!

We.love.chicken. Come to think of it, who doesn’t? Frying is one of the simplest ways of cooking chicken. I like making Japanese-style fried chicken, karaage. One time, I received a karaage mix sample in the mail, which simplified the entire process even more! And this is how the chicken turned out…

Yum! You can read more about it HERE.
Thank goodness we are not allergic (to chicken or any kind of food for that matter)! We sure don’t want to land in one of ‘em food allergies austin clinics! Bok-bok=bok!
Cheers y’all!

One of 3 cakes I made with a fairy topper for the month of September was this cake, a Candy Land Cake!

This has got to be one of the most fun cakes I had the chance making. It was for the back-to-back birthday celebration of the daughters of good friends of ours. They had a game night of sort of thing going. None of the Gears of War 3 type of games though! Just fun, good old fashioned board games. *wink*
The birthday girls loved their shared cake, and so did their parents and other friends of ours present at the party. And that, for me, made all the hard work well worth it.
Cheers!
