No, no, that’s no mistake. It’s not that computer/Facebook game I’m talking about. During the summer break, one of the things that kept my daughter and me busy was bead jewelry making. Here’s a sample of what my daughter made…

I love it!
These days, when people are on a self-imposed shopping diet and resisting the temptation to buy gold online, custom made, one-of-a-kind jewelry is a very sensible option. And you get to express yourself, too! I’ve made several pieces for myself. I so want to make some more!
Cheers!
Call me insane, but this is how I’m getting ready for the holidays…

Well, more than getting ready for the holidays, regular exercise has become a part of my life since the 3nd week of January. I will probably never fit into XXS petite clothing, but I sure as heck don’t want to wear clothes from the other end of the size chart again (ever!).
I will not gain weight over the holidays….that is my mantra.
Cheers!

Is it really September already?! If I were back home, I’d have already heard a Christmas carol! In just a few days, summer will be officially over. Soon, most people will be saying goodbye to basking in the sun on their outdoor chaise lounges. But where we are, it will continue to feel like summer until late October…or until mid-November even! It’s funny how during the summer months, a lot are complaining about the heat. Just you wait for fall and winter and people will be complaining about the cold. Hee hee.
As for us, all I can say is exciting times are ahead! *giggles*

School re-opened last Monday and this was what I prepared for my first grader on her 2nd day back to school. It’s stuffed mushrooms and brown rice. I packed the fruits in a separate container. My daughter’s school lunch is something I take seriously. I don’t mind having to wake up very early just so I can put together a hearty meal for her. It’s actually a lot of fun for me, crazy as that might sound.
Am I glad she doesn’t take classes via an Online School!

We had a fun pajama party two weeks ago in celebration of my daughter’s birthday no. 6. I made her birthday cake myself, of course! It was appropriately themed for the party.
The cake was Mocha Chiffon Marble Cake, her special request, filled and frosted with Italian Meringue Buttercream.
We granted my 6-year old’s birthday wish. It wasn’t really all that hard to grant. She didn’t ask for anything outrageous for her age, say, loose diamonds. Hee hee.
The party was super fun, just as we had hoped it would be. Cheers, y’all!
