Meeya’s Ninna tagged my little girl, Abby for this meme. Thanks, Ninna and Tita Meeya! We, I in particular, enjoyed doing this. ![]()
This is a fun tag from Nell. I had so much fun doing this that I was not content with just 1 cover. I ended up making 3.
It must be my inner cover model. Hahaha! My only regret is that I didn’t do this soon enough. It used to be that the covers available were from real magazines. I suspect the site got into some sort of a run in with the magazines that they had to change the titles, i.e. from Fortune to Riches, Vogue to Vage, Sports Illustrated to Sports Celebrated, and so on. Nevertheless, I still went crazy with the covers. Hee hee!

If you’re into visualization, this magazine cover is perfect.
This will really trick your subconscious mind into thinking that you are super rich.

I’ve posted this pic of Abby before but I just had to use it again for this mag cover. Awwww, my daughter is so pretty.

Ok, I do realize the penguin mascot occupied half of the mag cover. We have better family pictures but when I tried them on the different mag covers, the magazine titles end up covering our faces. So I had to settle with this one.
If you ever fantasized about gracing the cover of a magazine, this tag is definitely for you.
ps: Meeya tagged me for this meme as well. Hee hee. Thanks for reminding me, Mee!

Happy Easter!!! And have I got a lot of photos for this week’s Weekend Snapshot/s!
Saturday, 08 March 2008
We were at the mall by 9am on 08 March, Saturday, so my daughter, Abby, can participate in the Easter activities organized by the mall’s Kidgits Club. Compared to the last holiday-themed activity at the mall, which was Christmas, there were fewer kids that particular Saturday morning. I guess the lure of Santa is far stronger than that of the Easter Bunny.
But the organizers did make sure that the morning’s activities were well worth getting up early for.
This is a hanging ornament that Abby made that Saturday. I love the mosaic-ish effect of this handmade craft.
It’s a small plastic plate onto which Abby glued pieces of colored paper. And just in case you were wondering, we didn’t have anything to do with the egg drawings on the plate, which were cute anyway.
Abby is very serious with her art activites, as you can very well see.
And here she is, proud of her finished work. I had to remind her so many times that she has to wait for the glue to dry.

As expected, the Easter Bunny was present and gave every child an opportunity to have a photo taken with him. I’m so glad Abby has overcome her fear of mascots.
Like in December, the kids were treated to a light breakfast by Chick-fil-A.
Goody bags were also handed out to the kids and the moms. Not bad, ei?

The very next Saturday at 11am, we were yet in another Easter activity…bigger and a lot more fun. Our subdivision’s social community organized an Easter Egg Hunt at the main park. There were giant inflatables, which a lot of the kids enjoyed to the max, and free Culver’s Ice Cream for everyone!

I normally make a draft of my photo hunt entries ahead of time or at least be sure they’re ready first thing Saturday morning. But I’m running late again because, being Catholic, I took a two day hiatus from blogging and bloghopping in observance of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
Anyway, I hope to catch up with the other photo hunters.
This week’s theme is “metal” and I just had to participate because metal is one of my favorite materials. No, not because I love gold and silver, well, ok, I do, but the main reason really is that my family is in the business of exporting sculptures…made of metal.
And when hubby, my daughter and I moved to the US almost a year ago, I made sure I brought a few art pieces that were made from our factory. Here are photos of two of them taken in December last year.

Displayed prominently in front of our fireplace are sculptures of a horse and an elephant, both made from scrap metal. And by scrap metal, I mean metal that was previously used as material for refrigeratora, washing machines, air ducts, cars, etc.

I love this elephant sculpture because it’s my own design. But I didn’t weld it together! Hahaha! In feng shui, the elephant represents “descendant luck”. And for that reason alone, I had to bring this elephant with me if only to be sure that my daughter will have plenty of luck.
Hush, non-believers of feng shui! I’m simply trying to make sure all my bases are covered.

Another popular figure which represent luck is the horse. This is one of our older designs, very intricate and labor intensive. We have since come up with horses which are a lot simpler and easier to do.

Here’s a pic of the same horse at a different angle. I’m sure santa didn’t mind taking an alternative ride last Christmas.
I have another photo hunt entry here. Do check out photos by other photo hunters here.
