WS #8: The Lorikeets at Sea World

We spent last Sunday, 06 April, at San Antonio Sea World.  It’s our third visit since December.  Silver passports. Hee hee hee! ;)  One good thing about having silver passports is that we get to go around the park at a leisurely pace.  Come to think of it, small as it is, we have yet to go around Sea World in one visit.  On this last visit, one of our day’s highlights has got to be the time we spent with the lorikeets.  To gain entrance to the lorikeets’ cage, we bought a small cup of nectar worth $3.  I have to tell you, it was $3 dollars well spent. :)

Hubby held the tiny cup of nectar on one hand as instructed and just as soon as we entered the cage, he found himself in the company of new (feathered) friends. ;)

a pair of lorikeets on hubby's arm

The shy ones (or maybe they had too much nectar already!) just perched comfortably on a tree branch.

Do you think this one’s eyeing me rather suspiciously?  Hee hee.  I just wanted to take a picture! :D

Unlike the red colored ones, this brown lorikeet didn’t quite mingle as much.

My little girl had a blast watching the lorikeets but didn’t want them to land on her arm.  I had a blast taking pictures, too.  I wouldn’t mind spending some time with the lorikeets again the next time we go to Sea World.  But I think hubby would.  He got pecked on the arm 4 times.  Hee hee.

Have a great week!
