Social Spark

The newest baby of Izea is now up and running.  Its name?  SocialSpark.  Izea, in case you did not know, is the same company that has revolutionized on-line marketing and advertising via Pay Per Post.

I have just gone to the Social Spark website to create my profile.  From the site’s homepage alone, the excitement among the members can already be felt.  Social Spark brings together bloggers and advertisers in a social networking type of environment.  If you have ever signed up for a networking site, then you will pretty much have a good idea how it works.

There is a world of difference, however.  Social Spark is more of a combination of business and pleasure.  Yes, they can mix, in the blogosphere at least.  :)  Advertisers can easily find the blogs which they feel are right for their ads.  Bloggers, on the other hand, earn by writing sponsored entries or by displaying advertisements.  It’s a give and take kind of thing.  Advertisers pay, bloggers create buzz, the advertiser’s site generate traffic, everyone’s happy.

From what I’ve seen so far, I like how bloggers can apply for open opportunities.  What I don’t like is the same thing I have always disliked about social networking, the tendency of people going crazy over “adding friends” turning the whole thing into a popularity contest.

I really do hope this works out for all the members, advertisers and bloggers alike.
