Wimbledon 2008

Thanks to my husband, I have developed quite an interest in sports even if only at a spectator level. Hubby has always loved sports and as a way to, er, impress, I willed myself to watch sports during our younger years. It was tennis that I particularly liked watching other than basketball. I remember keeping myself upto date with player rankings and watching all the grand slam tournaments religiously. Wimbledon was and still is my favorite.  Which reminds, Wimbledon is just around the corner.

If only there’s a way for me to snag some Wimbledon tournament tickets plus, of course, the plane tickets, that would be just sweet!  We’re already halfway through May and in just a couple of weeks, from Jun 23 to July 6, all roads will lead to England for what is acknowledged to be the world’s premier tennis tournament.

My favorite tennis players then were Pete Sampras and Stefi Graf.  Sampras, along with William Renshaw, holds the distinction of having won the most Gentlemen’s Singles titles at 7 each.  While I am still a sentimental Sampras fan, I am also just too willing to cheer on Roger Federer to win his 6th consecutive Wimbledon championship.  As it is, he already is on the record books along with Bjorn Borg for having won the most consecutive Gentlemen’s Singles title after 1968.  It is just a matter of time before he beats the record 7 wins of Sampras and Renshaw.

Just talking about Wimbledon gets me so excited.  I am so looking forward to it already!

WW #13: Roughing It

These pics were taken at my friend’s house on Mother’s Day.  My daughter just loves climbing on ANYTHING.  And not even a short girly skirt can stop her.  Hee hee.  I hope you enjoy the photos.  Happy Wednesday! ;)

I have another WW entry HERE.  More Wordless Wednesday HERE.
