Our Black Friday loots from last year.
We were at the Round Rock Premium Outlets last Sunday and at one time while we were there, my thoughts drifted to our first ever Black Friday experience last year. Hubby’s birthday fell on Thanksgiving Day and we had dinner at our house with our friends and their kids. We all planned on going to the outlet mall together so it will be more fun. We wanted to take advantage of the huge discounts and get a head start on our Christmas shopping. The temperature that night was in the low 30s and it was freezing cold outside. But we refused to allow anything to stop us from shopping! When we got to the mall, that’s when our nightmare started. Hahaha. It was only 11pm (stores were scheduled to open exactly at midnight) and yet, lines were already formed outside the more popular shops. And when one was lucky enough to get into a store, the unbelievably long check-out lines will have to be endured next. Ugh. We only managed to buy from one store that night. All the rest were bought in the afternoon of Friday at the San Marcos Premium Outlets.
And then just now, I found out that there’s an on-line store called Black Friday which allows people to buy Black Friday items from a number of stores on-line, thus eliminating the need to camp out outside the stores! Ugh! :) Why oh why didn’t anybody tell me about this? The stores at the BF website include Macy’s, Old Navy, Best Buy, Circuit City, Toy R Us, Babies R Us, Tommy Hilfiger, Target, Office Max, Walmart and a whole lot more! One can even subscribe for email alert when new bfads (Black Friday ads) have been posted.
This year, I’ll know better. I will just shop from the comforts of my home. ![]()
