Ugh, the present Abby and I want to get for Hubby for Father’s Day is out of stock.  These days, the words “out of stock”, could only refer to one thing…the Wii.  Hee hee.  So far, we have the Guitar Hero III and the Wii Fit in our list of Wii thingamajigs.  Hubby, has long been wanting the MarioKart, a racing game which comes with a wireless steering wheel.  While we were at the birthday party of Abby’s classmate this morning, Hubby happened to drop by one of the gaming stores at the mall and learned they had 2 MarioKarts in stock.  However, didn’t snag one just yet and stayed with Abby and me at the party.  As luck would have it, they two that were on stock were gone by the time the party was over.  Tsk tsk.  It’s a classic case of “almost but not quite”.  Double ugh! :)   An alternative present is out of the question, say  any one of the popular MP3 players.  That’s because hubby has a PSP which already allows him to do almost everything…play games, watch videos, surf the net, store photos, and yes, listen to music.  I guess after Father’s Day, the MarioKart will be available in stores again.  I’m crossing my fingers on that thought. :D

“Books are fun…books are great…let’s sit down with a book today” – words from a Barney song

We want Abby to grow up with a love for reading.  And so early this year, we signed up with Scholastic for the Dr. Seuss book club.  As a club member, we got a Dr. Seuss backpack, which included 7 popular Dr. Seuss titles at a ridiculously low price of $4.99 plus shipping and handling.

As club members, every month, we get two new Dr. Seuss books at a 40% discount compared to bookstore prices and we can decline the books if in case we don’t like them.  To date Abby has about 16 Dr. Seuss books plust 2 large Horton books.

Of course, she has other non-Dr. Seuss books as well.  We can’t ever go to bed without reading at least 2 books.  Abby knows all these books so well already that whenever I pause to test her, she can very easily fill in the blanks and sometimes just go on and on by herself. :)

I highly recommend Dr. Seuss books to parents of toddlers.  It’s a great way to instill in our kids, the love for reading.  Let’s raise a reader, ok?

That’s what I always tell myself!  The key to a healthy life is exercise.  Unfortunately for most of us, it is quite a struggle.  Take the pic above for example?  Why aren’t my shoes on my feet?  Because I decided it’s more fun to just lounge around on a picnic mat than take a leisurely walk by the lake. :P   Hee hee.  But this pic was taken in February.  I’m a changed person now.  Honest! :D   For the last 3 weeks, I’ve been religiously popping my workout video on the dvd player and have been successfully hitting the play button.  Oh, I don’t just watch the video, silly.  I actually go along with it!  :P   Some people are constatly searching for a  diet pill that works.  Well, not me.  For one, I am quite sensitive to certain medicines.  And besides, exercise is a lot of fun.  I probably won’t be swimsuit worthy this summer, but next year, you bet I will be. ;)   You know what else motivates me?  The fact that we’re planning to come home in December.  I certainly don’t want people telling me I got so healthy in the US!  I’ve had just about enough of that.  Really.

The very first computer that was issued to hubby when he got to the US is a Dell laptop .  Dell is one of clients of the company that hubby works for.  However, hubby didn’t get to use this laptop very long because HP, also happens to be one of his company’s clients.  It would have been very strange if hubby brought a Dell laptop to an HP meeting.  As a solution, hubby’s company issued him a new laptop, this time, a company brand.

Well, hubby’s loss was my gain as I kinda “inherited” the Dell laptop.  Hee hee.  However, it is no longer performing as well.  I may have already worked it for all its got.  :P   Just the same, if only for Dell’s connection to my hubby’s worklife, if ever I’m gonna have a laptop upgrade, it may very well be another Dell computer.  True, I’m salivating over the Macbooks, but…  I won’t mind owning a Dell Inspiron, at the very least, but a Dell XPS will be way better.  Hee hee.  Too bad Father’s Day isn’t about me.  :P

I decided to “reuse” photos of my daughter which first appeared in my personal blog on the first Thursday of May.  These were taken in a Vietnamese restaurant.  It’s quite funny how the vibrant colors of the rainbow contrasted with my daughter, Abby’s, gloomy face. :D

I have a happier photo hunt entry HERE.  More photo hunters here.
