For my birthday, Hubby and Abby gave me a new toy, a Nintendo DS Lite in crimson and black, my color of choice. :)  I had three options really: a new bag, a telephoto lens for my camera or the DS.  Obviously I picked the DS.  Hee hee.

I only have two games right now, BraineAge 2 and this…

You can’t really blame me for choosing an actual toy.  Toys these days are much cooler and they cater to people of all ages.  I can safely say I’m not the only one who is gungho on these gaming thingamajigs.  Hubby gas a toy of his own, too…a PSP, which I gave him for Christmas.  For family fun, we have the Nintendo Wii.  We’re proud of our Wii inventory.  So far, we have the Guitar Hero, the Wii Fit and Mario Kart (with 2 steering wheels, one each for Hubby and me).  We don’t have a dance mat yet or a wireless mic.  It might take some time before we add to our Wii list.

Do you think it’s too much if we got a PS3 as well?  At least it’s double purpose…it’s a gaming console and blu-ray dvd player in one.  Hee hee.  But we’re not buying.  Not yet.  :P

Abby walked a dog for the very first time last July.  It was our neighbor’s pet, the name of which escapes me right now.  Anyway,  Abby was a little afraid of it at first because it’s just about as big as she is.  But as soon as she warmed up to it, she agreed to go with our neighbor, Jeanne, and 2 other girls her age, to take the beautiful dog out for a walk.  After that walk, Abby couldn’t stop asking for a pet dog of her own.

Unfortunately, we’re not quite ready for a pet right now,  at least, not yet.  We probably could have said yes to a fish, but a four-legged friend for Abby is just too much for all of us to handle.  Everybody knows that caring for a pet takes a lot of responsibility.  There are visits to the vet and groomer, pet food, even  pet beds to think about!  Maybe we’ll reconsider when we already have a house of our own.  Hubby has always wanted a golden retriever anyway. :)  We’ll see.
