The longest drive we’ve taken here in the US is the plus/minus 5-hour drive to and from Mammoth Lakes, CA. It was 5 of us adults and two kids on that trip. We used my aunt and uncle’s van, which accommodated all of us comfortably. However, I sat on the last row, between Abby and my 14-month old niece, Maddie. I became their designated personal entertainer. So while Hubby and my cousin were discussing futures trading, I kept Abby and Maddie busy. I played a movie for them, we sang songs, fed them when they were hungry, etc. I took loads of pictures, too! I was only able to take a break when the two girls dozed off. Between Abby, Maddie and me, I’d say I was the one who was silently muttering under my breath, “Are we there yet?”

Abby just a few minutes into the drive, still very fresh and pleasant.

Starting to get a little bored perhaps?

Now that’s the face of boredom if I ever say one!

What’s a mommy to do then?

Making faces did work it’s magic, at least for a while. Hee hee.
