Maligayang araw at mabuhay!
Abby handed me this “Skeletoni” when I picked her up from school yesterday.

She made it in school last Friday. It’s cute, isn’t it? You might want to make one with your kids. Most homes have a stash of uncooked pasta. *wink*
These are the halloween crafts Abby made in school last year…

A photo frame made of craft sticks and decorated with fun stickers

A mini pumpkin head
I like fun crafts like these because they take away the kids’ focus from what could sometimes be negative associations with halloween…the scary kind that make people lose their bearings.
Hungry? I’ve got Monster Cupcakes, my other WW entry!
Enjoy the rest of the week!

Yesterday marked the beginning of Halloween festivities, for us at least. Abby attended a halloween activity at the mall where she got to do a bit of crafting (photo frame out of a disposable plate and painting a mini styrofoam pumpkin), had her photo taken by Picture People (we’ll get a 10in x 13in copy for free!), jumped her heart out in a bounce house and played a few other games. Abby wore a beautiful gown that was given to her as a gift on her last birthday.

Princess for a day. She’ll wear a different costume on Halloween night.

Abby tossing a ring

Decorating a photo frame. Too bad the organizers ran out of the frames made of popsicle sticks.
I’ll be posting more pics within the week.
We have a busy weekend ahead of us. It’s going to be loads of fun!
I also made monster cupcakes yesterday evening, my other WS entry, as a dry run of sorts of the treats I’ll be making for halloween weekend.
Have a great week ahead!

These photos were taken four years ago at a halloween party meant for kids. But look at these scary lot from the underworld who are employees of the resort.

They are scary indeed! Too scary it’s downright cruel! Some of the “actors” were even wearing colored contact lenses for the full scary effect! I don’t know what possessed the organizers to come up with this concept.

That’s my niece, Macy, in the fairy costume. She’s always been a brave little girl.

Would you accept treats from this, uhm, whatever it is! The girl in the angel costume is also my niece, Kylah.

And here is my traumatized niece, Sophie, who was only 2 years old that time. Poor supergirl!
My 3 nieces have already grown so much since this trick or treat event four years ago.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Boo!

Last Saturday, we went to the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm, not to pick out our Christmas Tree, but for the Pumpkin Festival. Last year, we missed going to a pumpkin patch. We more than made up for that lost opportunity this year. We had 6-times the fun because we were with 5 other families (plus our family makes 6!). It was our first outing with our NFFs (new found friends).
All in all, we were 12 adults and 21 kids. You can say we had a little barrio fiesta going. Hahaha!

Abby wasn’t in a very good mood the first few minutes after we arrived at the pumpkin patch.

I thought she’ll smile if it were the two us in the photo. No such luck!

She was still in a foul mood during our family pic photo op.

Abby’s bad mood disappeared when she did some pumpkin painting. I posted an entry about it here.
Unforunately, the paint started peeling off from the pumpkin before the day was even over. I might as well just turn the pumpkin into a pie or some other dish with coconut cream. Veggies are good you, you know?! Load up on them and you won’t ever find yourself reading diet pill reviews.
