Today, it’s exactly 12 years and one month since I had laser eye correction surgery on both of my eyes.  The exact date of the procedure was September 13, 1996.  Being able to see clearly without the aid of contacts and glasses was a dream I never really thought would come true.  I have my Mom to thank for my new eyes!  They aren’t so new anymore but they are still as perfect and as crystal clear as ever!

Joining the bandwagon of more than 12 million Americans who have dramatically improved their vision are  NASA and the US Military, thanks to laser vision correction technologies.   To improve the vision of specialized personnel facing extreme, physically demanding conditions, the Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA tapped an all-laser form of LASIK .

Only one laser is used in the earlier versions of LASIK.    But in the modern LASIK, better know as iLASIK, two lasers are used.  ILasik is a combination of advanced laser technologies which allows the creation of a custom-fit procedure clinically proven to provide excellent safety and visual results.

Results of the military’s evaluation of modern LASIK showed that in 100 military personnel, 95% achieved 20/20 uncorrected vision or better and 100% of naval aviators who have undergone the procedure would recommend the surgery to other naval aviators.

With more and more LASIK information available and LASIK technology continuing to improve, it is the as good a time as any to go after that dream of perfect (beyond perfect even!)

I snagged this tag from Meeya.  It looked like it was fun to do so here we are. :)

My roommate and I once: a bunk bed.  My brother slept on the bottom bed, and I, on the top.

Never in my life have I: gone on the Philippines’ LRT. :D

High school was: when I met Hubby.

When I’m nervous: I get fidgety.

My hair: has never had the taste of highlights and color.

When I was 5: I had my first birthday party in school.

When I turn my head to the left:I see houses (our neighbors’) through our front window…and plants and flowers, too. :D

I should be: folding the laundry. The dryer just beeped. *Ugh!*

By this time next year: I hope we’re already living in our own house, still here in Texas. ;)

My favorite aunt is: my Mom’s eldest sister.

I have a hard time understanding: poker.

You know I like you if: I go out of my way to talk or actually be with you. :D

My ideal breakfast is: any of the Philippine SiLog eats: tapsilog, longsilog, tocilog, etc. ;)

If you visit my home town: you’ll see that it’s quite busy.  Batang sampaloc…that’s me!

If you spend the night at my house: you’ll be treated with utmost Pinoy hospitality. :D

The animal I would like to see flying besides birds: horses?  Hahaha!  I bet Abby would love that, too!

I shouldn’t have been: staying up ’til 2am for so many nights already!

Last night I: plurked, blogged and bloghopped.

A better name for me would be: anything other than my real name, mwehehe!

I’ve been told I look like: Jessa Zaragoza and Basia.

If I could have any car, it would be: …gosh, I can’t think of any right now!  I’ll get back to this one. Hahaha.

Last Saturday, we attended the birthday party of my daughter’s classmate at their very own farm.  I took these snapshots on our way to the party location.

While East Coast residents are already raving about the leaves changing colors,  leaves here in Texas are still as green as ever. I’d say they aren’t any different from the leaves of Summer, Winter or Spring. :D

More green!

Saturday started out a little gloomy.  But the day turned out to be perfect after all!

I wonder what’s inside that structure…used tape drives, perhaps? Kidding. :D

What’s a cowboy to ride if there were no horses?  :D

I’d love to have a farm too, with fruit bearing trees and all.   But I can’t imagine actually living in the farm just yet.

Feeling hungry?  I’ve got colorful noodles here, my other Weekend Snapshot entry.

Have a great week ahead! :)
