We’re at San Antonio Sea World a lot. You can’t really blame us because it’s the only theme park within comfortable and practical driving distance (almost 2 hours away!) from where we live. And besides, we have silver passes, which we were determined to make the most of. Our only other options are Schlitterbahn, a water park which is only open during the summer months, and Six Flags, which my 4-year old daughter isn’t about to enjoy that much just yet.

The lorikeet couldn’t care less about Hubby’s bracelets. Those aren’t magnetic bracelets, by the way.
One of the highlights of our Sea World visits is the time we spent with the lorikeets. I had a grand time taking photos and Abby got a real kick observing the birds in close proximity. I guess I could say the same for Hubby, notwithstanding the pecks he got on his arms from the lovely colorful birds.

To attract the birds to rest on one’s arm/s, visitors held a small cup of nectar on one or both hands.

Nice vivid colors, don’t you think?

The perfect model

These little birds, lovely as they are, will be even lovelier when they’re all grown up.
We haven’t been to Sea World since September. But we’ll definitely drop by before the month is over so we can enjoy the holiday attractions. Sea World will be taking a break after December 31st and won’t reopen until March.
PS: More lorikeet photos here (mostly red ones!).
