Gitara…tsek! (Guitar….check!)

Mga manganganta na lang ang kulang. Tara na!

Malayo na ang narating ng pangangaroling sa panahon ngayon. Tandang-tanda ko pa noong aking kabataan, ang ginagamit na tambol ng mga nangangaroling ay mga lata ng gatas. Butas ang magkabilang dulo nito at nilalagyan ng takip na plastik ang isa at nilalagyan ng goma para hindi gumalaw. Ang tambourine na ginagamit din ay mga pinitpit na tansang pinagsama-sama ng alambre. Nakakatuwang balik tanawin. Isang beses lang ako nakapagkaroling. Strict ang parents ko eh. Hahaha! 
Digital Age na nga. Mangangaroling ba ang inyong mga anak? Sigurado akong nakahanda ang inyong mga kamera para may remembrance na babalik-balikan.
The joy of caroling has come a long way. As a little girl, I remember that neighborhood carolers used homemade instruments. For drums, they used big milk cans with both ends taken out. One end is then covered with plastic, which is secured by a couple fo rubberbands. For tambourines, they used flattened tin bottle caps which are then strung together by a wire.
We’re truly in the Digital Age. Will you allow your kids to go caroling in your neighborhood. I’m sure you have your cameras ready to take keepsake photoes. Don’t forget your flash drives for easier and faster file sharing when you parents get together.

Modern at kikay ang mga instrumento mo. Nung bata ako nag-iipon kami ng tansan at pipitpitin ito para gawing tambourine. Hay, those were the days.
