I need a nice bathroom.  Whenever we go out of town, one of my requirements, in addition to proximity to the town center and wifi connection  is a nice bathroom.  I can live without free breakfast but please, get me a more than decent bathroom. It is  the first thing I check whenever we check into a hotel.  Hee hee. :D In the Philippines, the Shangri-la Makati, Shangri-la Mactan and the Mandarin Oriental have what I consider to be the ideal standard bathrooms.

When we went to California in July last year, my cousin whisked us away to Mammoth and treated us to two glorious night at The Westin Monache Resort.  We stayed at a two-bedroom suite with a living and dining area, kitchen and the view, might I add, was just beautiful.  And the bathrooms were more than I could ask for…

The master bath was practically another room in itself.  I can’t complain about the shiny bathroom accessories. :)

This is the second bathroom…

It is just a third of the size of the master bath but still pretty if you ask me.  I wonder if  these are kudos showers in both bathrooms.  Probably not.

Last February 13th, there was an exchange of Valentine’s presents and cards at my daughter’s school.  My little girl received a lot of cute little cards, chocolates, candies and other small tokens of love.

One of the things my daughter received is this handmade flower given to her by her teachers…

This is made from construction paper, craft stick and ribbon.  I hope no Elm trees or any kind of tree for that matter, were harmed to make these crafting materials. Haha!

This flower, which will not wilt, will be a wonderful remembrance from Abby’s teachers.

Experts say that it is important for moms and dads to have a mother-daughter, mother-son, father-daughter, or father-son date with each of their children.  It is important that parents have these one-on-one bonding time with their kids to better get to know them and so they’ll all feel especially loved. These dates need not be eleborate so it’s unnecessary to book a room at extended stay hotels.

Whenever my husband goes on a business trip, it is not uncommon for my daughter and I to go on a mother-daughter date.

These photos were taken last year using my cellphone…

Abby attended her first pajama party last Friday, February 13th, which a good friend of mine hosted.  It is actually a sleep-over but both Abby and I are not yet ready for that.  Haha!  The boys spent most of the night playing video games while the girls watched dvd and did other girly stuff in another room.  We parents, on the other hand, watched the Angelina Jolie starrer “Wanted” in the living room.

I took lots of photos of Abby, as always.  I thought I was going to use up 2 memory cards.  Abby had a grand time and has been asking me if she can have a sleep-over/pajama party at our house.  I just smiled and hoped that she’ll forget all about it in the next few days.  Hee hee.

Abby’s Valentine’s loot bag, which she herself decorated

How did you spend your Valentine’s weekend?  We had a fun-filled weekend, the highlight of which can be considered by many as a most unusual way to spend the day of hearts.

For the second time this month, we, together with our friends (5 other families), spent the afternoon in a fitness center.  Yes, we  had a “healthy hearts day”.  Hee hee.   While the kids were having the time of their lives at the children’s center, the dads played basketball and the moms did some cardo.  I spent 20 minutes on the Stairmaster, 18 minutes on the treadmill, plus some stretching and abdominal exercises.  I wanted to go on the elliptical but while my mind was willing, my legs were not.  :P

I was sore as hell for the rest of the evening but that didn’t stop me from having a good time with our friends…until about 1am the next morning. *happy sigh*

I hope you had a fun Valentine’s weekend as well. ;)
