February 16, 2009

Abby attended her first pajama party last Friday, February 13th, which a good friend of mine hosted. It is actually a sleep-over but both Abby and I are not yet ready for that. Haha! The boys spent most of the night playing video games while the girls watched dvd and did other girly stuff in another room. We parents, on the other hand, watched the Angelina Jolie starrer “Wanted” in the living room.
I took lots of photos of Abby, as always. I thought I was going to use up 2 memory cards. Abby had a grand time and has been asking me if she can have a sleep-over/pajama party at our house. I just smiled and hoped that she’ll forget all about it in the next few days. Hee hee.

How did you spend your Valentine’s weekend? We had a fun-filled weekend, the highlight of which can be considered by many as a most unusual way to spend the day of hearts.
For the second time this month, we, together with our friends (5 other families), spent the afternoon in a fitness center. Yes, we had a “healthy hearts day”. Hee hee. While the kids were having the time of their lives at the children’s center, the dads played basketball and the moms did some cardo. I spent 20 minutes on the Stairmaster, 18 minutes on the treadmill, plus some stretching and abdominal exercises. I wanted to go on the elliptical but while my mind was willing, my legs were not.
I was sore as hell for the rest of the evening but that didn’t stop me from having a good time with our friends…until about 1am the next morning. *happy sigh*
I hope you had a fun Valentine’s weekend as well.
Last week, my kitchen was transformed into a bakeshop of sorts as it was bustling with activities. It started on the night of February 7th when I baked a Honey Cake with Honey Cream Cheese Frosting for a male friend’s birthday. This is the boxed up cake…
The following night, I baked another birthday cake, this time for a female friend’s birthday. I made her a Luscious Chocolate Cake with Perfectly Chocolate Chocolate Frosting. Here’s the cake ready for delivery…

These next two photos were not taken on a weekend but the photographed goodies were received on a weekend anyway, so I guess they still count as weekend snapshots. Hahaha!
These are Blondies (Blonde Brownies) that my daughter gave her teachers for Valentine’s Day…

There are 14 pieces inside the Valentine-themed tubs. And these are the little Valentine packages I sent my friends…

There are 8 pieces of Blondies in each box.
I was baking practically every night last week, one would think I was taking horse supplements instead of regular vitamins! Hahaha! I can take it easy this week, now that Valentine’s Day is over and it’s a few more weeks ’til another friend celebrates a birthday.
Have a wonderful week ahead, y’all!
