School is out, for most schools at least.  Two words, “spring break”!  Many will be going on vacation and a lot of kids will be signed up for mini camp if only to keep them busy.

As for us, a week-long vacation is out of the question, although that would really be sweet.  We’ll be more than satisfied if we could squeeze in a weekend get-away.  Dallas would be a wonderful destination.  It’s just a comfortable drive away and getting a  travel insurance quote won’t be necessary.

Here are slide shows from our August 2008 trip to Dallas.

I just love that city.  But Austin will always be #1 in my heart. :D

I make no secret about my sweet tooth.  For me, dessert completes a meal.  And there’s always, and I mean ALWAYS room for it.  Imagine my excitement when I attended a sugar art show and cake competition two weeks ago, the “That Takes the Cake Sugar Art Show and Cake Competition”.  I felt like a child in a candy store, only this was better.  It was cake heaven!  Hahaha!  The sight alone of hundreds of cakes made me want to pop a weight loss pill in my mouth right there and then! Here are some photos from the show…

Click here for more photos and my full account of the cake show. :)

One thing I look forward to everyday is TV time….MY tv time. :)   Since most of my favorite shows aren’t exactly suitable for my 4-year old daughter, I often just end up watching them late at night, thanks to the DVR.

I’m glad that after two weeks of re-runs,  Grey’s Anatomy (I love love Patrick Dempsey!) and Private Practice (I hope Violet agrees to a paternity test!) had fresh episodes yesterday.  Damages is down to it’s last 3 episodes.  I’ve been a fan since it’s first season. Glenn Close rocks!

I like a lot of new shows.  One is Fringe!  Waiting for the new episodes which are set to air next month has become a test of patience.  Haha!  Another  is Lie to Me.  The show’s star, Tim Roth, isn’t a hunk but he’s a lot of fun to watch. Hee hee.  And then there’s Trust Me, which stars Eric McCormack and Tom Cavanagh.

And for shows that don’t require too much thinking on my part, there’s Dancing with the Stars, Celebrity Apprentice and American Idol (which I haven’t really been giving that much attention).

On the food front, there’s Hell’s Kitchen (so what if Gordon Ramsey has the worst temper?!), Iron Chef America, Food Network Challenge and Ace of Cakes.

Of course, having a child in the house, there’s a list of kiddie shows that I get to watch as well. :D

I know I should get back to my reading, but I can’t tear myself away from the TV.  Hee hee.  I’ll hit the books again soon. :D   What about you, what’s on your “watch list”?
