It was my brother’s birthday last May 14.  He is younger than I am but definitely not anymore the “little” brother.  Hee hee.  I promised him a birthday cake.  I thought it was just right that I made him one even if we’re thousands of miles apart.  For one, I’ve made cakes for a number of  friends already.  I’ve also made cakes for my little girl’s teachers.

To set my brother’s cake apart from the ones I’ve done previously, I made him sometime totally different from what I usually bake and decorate…ICE CREAM CAKE!

You can read more about the ice cream cake HERE.  There are three flavors of ice cream in there plus whipped cream and M&Ms.  I won’t be surprised if one ends up reading about the top 10 diet pills after having a slice…or two…or three.  One thing’s for sure, I’m not buying ice cream cake for a novely ice cream shop or whoever is selling them anytime soon.  Hee hee.

My left hand…

My right hand…

They couldn’t be happier.  Hee hee!  They got some free, take not, FREE, pampering last Tuesday at a posh spa tucked somewhere at Austin’s high-end mall, The Domain.  It’s the equivalent of the Philippines’ Greenbelt 4, Bonifacio High Street and Serendra.

This manicure costs $35!  Man, I wouldn’t pay that amount of money for a manicure!  Hahaha!  Anyway, I had quite a chatty lady do my nails.  Much as I wanted to just sit there, I listened attentively to her stories about her recent trip to the beach, Mother’s Day, heck, even rv parks!  Hee hee!

Now, the question is, where can I get a free pedicure?

Yes, in this pic…what do you see in this pic?  I see BARBECUE…sausages, beef ribs, pork ribs and beef brisket.  This is the barbecue pit of The Salt Lick, where we had Mother’s Day lunch last week.  I have yet to write a review at my food blog about our visit to this restaurant.  But I will real soon.

Oh, you know what else I see in this pic?  The use of Colonix if people have one too many of these mighty meats.  Hee hee.  Please, eat in moderation.

My daughter, precocious as she is, is without a doubt, the sweetest.  Just when I thought she has given me the best surprises a mother could ever imagine receiving from a 4-year old, there was another surprise waiting for me at her class’ bulletin board the day after Mother’s Day…

Now do you agree with me that my little girl is sweet?  This gift is better than receiving the latest “it” bag, or the most expensive jewelry.  Then again, that’s just me.

You’re beautiful, too, my Little Munchkin…a million times more beautiful than mommy. *mwah*

For Mother’s Day, I received some precious gifts.  If you’re thinking expensive jewelry, designer bag or a day at a spa, then you’re very wrong.

I received the most precious gifts from my 4-year old daughter: a potted plant (which she planted and watered in school), a Mother’s Day card and a Mommy Fact Sheet.  My Little Munchkin made all of these herself, with the help of her teachers.

My most favorite of the three, if I may be allowed to have a favorite, is the Mommy Fact Sheet….

My daughter is such a sweetheart.  Sometimes I wonder how someone so sweet as she is capable of turning my and hubby’s lives into virtual ellipticals…literally and figuratively speaking.  Sugar and spice, that’s my girl!
