My daughter takes after me in that she has has a sweet tooth. Well, most kids her age do! But since the Little Munchkin often sees me whipping up dishes and goodies in the kitchen, she often volunteers to help with anything, be it pouring or measuring ingredients. So I indulge her.
Much as my daughter loves sweets, one thing she didn’t take from me is how quickly I get, uhm, chubby. At least, I don’t have to worry about her being pressured by peers to take diet pills. *cross fingers*

(I’ll make up for missing last week’s LP by again posting photos for two themes: last week’s and this week’s. )
LP #55: Tulay (Bridge)
(The following photos were taken in San Antonio in July 2007. That was the very first time we visited the city.)

LP #56: Umpisa Pa Lamang (Only/Just the Start)
(Abby started going to school in August 2007, just a week before her 3rd birthday. In this photo, she is busy putting decorations on her lunch bag…)

(And here she is on the morning of the very 1st day, not to mention the very first time, she started school

Hahaha!
(It is way to early to tell what profession Abby will choose when she grows up. Architect? Engineer? Doctor? Become one of a number of Mesothelioma lawyers? I just hope she keeps the positive attitude she has right now about school and learning.)
Isa pang lahok para sa LP DITO.
Mabuhay!

The first ever million dollar question for ChikaTuesday is: “What is your marriage porposal story?”
The first and only time I ever shared our wedding proposal story in my other blog was in November 2008 as an entry for Litratong Pinoy’s “Maalaala Mo Kaya?” theme. I’ve decided to just republish the story here in all its Tagalog glory.

Didn’t I say it’s not book-worthy? It’s not one that’ll get you aaaaawing, ooohing and aaaaahing. Come to think of it, I couldn’t be bothered one bit. The bottom line is, I married my one and only true love. And that’s all that matters.
It’s here finally, the first day of the first week of the new WifeSpeaks! Today, we start ofF with Memoir Monday, where we are supposed to post a photo that best captures the given theme. And today’s theme is COMMITMENT. Aaahhh, commitment, that word some people are allergic to. Hee hee.
The wedding day is when couples officially and legally commit themselves to one another as husband and wife. I chose two photos from our wedding day, photos which I’ve already previously posted on my other blog, photos from when we were skinny and weight loss pills were farthest from our minds. Haha! ![]()

Hubby saying his vows

Me saying my vows
Vows are more than just a verbal statement that we are committing ourselves to our chosen life partner. It is a solemn promise usually made before God and witnessed by people close to the couple. And in case you want to know what Hubby and I said, you can find it HERE, the Tagalog version, at least.
Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

Yesterday, May 2nd, the day of the big fight between the Philippines’ pride Manny Pacquiao and Great Britain’s Ricky Hatton, was another excuse for Pinoys the world over to come together. It was another potluck event for us. What’s a good fight if there’s no good food?
And we had lots of good food!
Unfortunately, Time Warner had a problem with their connection, which affected all of Austin. We were so close to not being able to see the match! Good thing one of the guests (Bless him!) subscribed to an on-line live feed of the match. So we still got to watch the game via a computer/tv hook up! Whew!
Nobody expected the match to be over in just 2 rounds. Before the match, most of the men in our group were saying Pacquiao was the underdog. Well, you know what happened.
What happened to Hatton was scary. I thought he was going to be brought out in a stretcher. It’s a blessing he was still able to get up at the end of the fight. I honestly hope he is well.
So, let that match be a lesson to all ye boxing hopefuls. Be sure you have all your bases covered when you enter the ring! It’s never too early to secure term life insurance online quotes, specially when you have a family depending on you.
