Well, not really around town but around the beach…
I don’t know who among my friends owns this pair of flip-flops but I do know which Shoe Store this nice pair are from. And I bet you can tell, too!
Hee hee. Ditching footwear at this beach was the most natural thing to do. How can one not opt to go barefoot when the sand is so powdery soft? Even the most obsessive-compulsive of neat freaks will want to feel the sand beneath their feet! It’s something we don’t get to do very often after all.
Now wasn’t that poetic? Haha! I can’t help it, not when I see this photo taken on the night of August 2nd…
Life, for us, was a BEACH from August 2nd to the 5th. Technically, it was just from the the 2nd to the 4th because we didn’t set foot on the beach anymore on the 5th.
We can now add Port Aransas to our list of favorite Texas cities. Our days there with our friends were just pure blissful fun. No dull moments, I tell you! The only minor glitches were during check-in at our hotel (a first with Hampton!) and at check out (something about the receipt printer working improperly).
I have a ton of photos to share. The question is when I can post them. Hee hee.
I’ve always found it a little hard to snap out of vacation mode no matter how short the vacation was. Take for example my latest case of vacation hang-over. I’ve been back from a 5-day mini vacation since Wednesday night, yet, I’m still very much in vacation mode that I could hardly lift a finger. Hee hee.
The first leg of our vacation was an overnight stay in Houston. As always, we stayed at the Hampton Inn, which has served as our home away from home for a good number of times already. Check out the shiny black appliances that greeted us…
The Hampton Inn near the Houston Galleria turned out to be a very good choice. We had a mini-fridge, a microwave and this good-sized tv.
Only select Hampton Inns have a fridge and a microwave and the tvs are usually from the pre-plasma/lcd era. The office furniture pieces were nice, too!
We didn’t go around Houston much as we arrived late Saturday and had to leave around noon the next day. We did get to bring our little girl to the Houston Children’s Museum plus a stop at the Houston Galleria for dinner. More photos (hopefully!) in upcoming posts.
Enjoy what’s left of the weekend! Cheers!
