We’ve been living in Texas for almost three years now and I have to say, this winter seems to be the longest we’ve experienced.  We usually start experiencing spring weather as early as the days after the New Year.  Last weekend, however, we were blessed with beautiful sunshine, just warm enough to get our dusty tennis gear out of the closet.

My daughter was an eager participant, much to hubby’s and my delight.  She took tennis lessons last summer and she’s saying she wants to continue with it this summer.  Well, well, well.  We’re all for it.  We’re exposing our little girl to different sports, not so she could build muscle, but so that she can find out for herself which one she really likes.  We’re hoping she would be a lover of sports and an active lifestyle.  And it looks she’s turning into one.

On Superbowl Sunday, something excited me more than the game itself…I finally got a haircut!!

Oh joy!  It’s been more than a year since I went to the salon for a good trim.  I don’t know why I waited so long.  Funny what a haircut can do!  It felt like a load was taken off my shoulders.  Hee hee.  For a while, I forgot about my problems with adult acne.  I promised myself that I won’t wait as long anymore to get a trim.

Two weeks ago, the lens I ordered online arrived…

I love it!  Ever since I got a taste of using a prime lens and saw the gorgeous, crisp photos it was capable of producing, it was prime lens love for me.  You see, almost since day 1 of owning my dslr, a friend of mine graciously lent me his 50mm lens.  Alas, time came for me and the 50mm lens to part.  Huhu.

I rarely use my kit lens now.  Photos taken with a prime lens are much clearer, so clear in fact that one can’t really hide behind an anti wrinkle face cream.  Scary, huh? Hee hee.

I made Fresh Salsa for the very first time a few days before SuperBowl Sunday.  Hubby and I loved it so much that there was just no going back to bottled salsa.  I divided the salsa into two, one for our little girl and one for Hubby and me.  I chopped one fresh chili pepper and added it to my and hubby’s salsa.  It was hot, hot, hot, all right that the words hemorrhoid cream started flashing in my head. Hee hee.   I made the salsa two or three more times since that first time.

Two weeks ago, I made bundt cakes for the birthday of two of my friends.  I’ve been meaning to use my never-been-used bundt pan bought towards the end of last year.

For Friend #1, I made a Carrot Bundt Cake with Honey Cream Cheese Frosting….

For Friend #2, who just absolutely loves chocolate, I made a chocolatey chocolate bundt cake, which I am aptly naming Chocoholic’s Dream Bundt Cake…

I’m pleased with how the bundt cakes came up.  If only I could turn this hubby into a successful home business. Then again, why not?! *cross fingers*
