I had a most wonderful Mother’s Day Weekend.  We started celebrating Mother’s Day as early as the morning of May 7th when I attended the Muffins with Mommy activity in my daughter’s school.  It was a weekend of good food and family bonding and I won’t have it any other way.  We enjoyed a good variety of food over the weekend leaving me glad that I don’t take phentermine.  Hee hee.  I’ve actually convinced myself that after 4 months of mindful eating and regular exercise, my metabolism has remarkably improved.  Ha! Cheers to good food! ;)

This is one of the lovely presents my daughter made for me for Mother’s Day.  She did this in school.  “If my mom were an animal, she would be a LIYIN (lion) because she run(s) fast.”  I can’t help but smile when I read this because it is a clear picture of me in my daughter’s eyes.  She actually thinks her mommy runs fast.  Hee hee.  She would be surprised to know that as a little girl, I often tripped and fell, thus leaving me too afraid to run.  Thankfully, I don’t have any scars that would need something as strong as an acne scar removal cream to worry about.  And thankfully, people change.  I now love to run, as if I’m making up for lost time. :)

Too bad this isn’t mine.  Hee hee!  There were a lot of cars on exhibit throughout Six Flags Over Texas when we visited the the park a month ago.  My daughter loved this car the most.  It’s white and pink and purple, truly a little girl’s  preferred colors.  I wonder if the owner of this car has a driveway alarm. Cheers!

On May 2nd, I completed my first ever 5K run and I couldn’t be happier. :) My chip time was 35:35, which I think isn’t so bad considering I’m a newbie who didn’t go through the suggested 8-10 week training for a 5k.  Bad, bad, bad!

Speaking of chip time, I’m really fascinated with the timing chips.  I think they’re one of the most inspired  inventions ever.  Imagine if, instead of timing chips, runners had to wear barcodes and event volunteers have to scan them with a Symbol LS2208 when they cross and start and finish lines. That would just be complete chaos!  Hee hee.  Thank God god for really smart inventors. :)
