I love it when the sun and the sky are in a good mood…a good enough mood to impress…

My daughter and I were having an early al freso dinner at a neighborhood sandwich shop when I noticed how beautiful the sky was. I love scenes like this and I can get used to seeing such a display everyday. t’s a beautiful sight. It helped me relax and forget about life’s stressors…even for just a short time. Because really, how can one think of, say, best acne treatments, when the skies are partying right in front of you?!
Cheers, y’all!
My daughter is so fortunate to have a teacher who is so sweet and patient. The sweetness isn’t limited to just the kids! It also extends to us parents, specially those who volunteer in class.
Last month, I helped cover textbooks for my daughter’s class. It’s something I was happy to do. And to show her appreciation, my daughter’s teacher gave me a goody bag…

What a treat! I love chocolates and I munched on a few pieces while I was covering books.
Yum!
We are now into the second nine weeks of school. The holidays will be here before we know it! I won’t be hanging christmas garlands this year. And for good reason!
Cheers!

We were up and about really early last Saturday, October 23rd. Hubby and I participated in the Livestrong Challenge 5k Run here in Austin, TX. It was hubby’s first 5k while it was my 2nd, the first being the Schlotzsky’s Bun Run last May.
Hubby and I tried our best to get ourselves ready for the Livestrong Challenge by running at least three times a week. Our natural fat burners, hopefully were working as hard as we did. In a little over a week, we will be running in another 5K. This time, it’s for the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure. It’s going to be one heck of a fun race!
Cheers!

Gotta love that smoke comin’ out of the test tube! Guess what’s in it. Not ephedra diet pills, silly! Just good ‘ol dry ice and some (hot) water.
I made this cake for the 9th birthday of a dear friend’s daughter. It’s a Monster High-themed cake, in case you’re wondering.
I know a lot of people believe that birthday celebrations and coffins don’t mix. Then again, some people are less superstitious than others, so I just let my friend have her way.
This was a super fun cake to make. And I have to say, the birthday girl and her guests loved the cake as much as I loved making it.

I have a friend who, I’m quite sure, is happy that I finally got to recreate a dish she really likes, Walnut Shrimp. I did have to substitute the walnuts with cashews because I didn’t have walnuts the day I decided to make the dish. I didn’t even have to look for the recipe. It just merrily landed in my inbox, thanks to one of the food/recipe sites that I am subscribed to.
I love how this dish turned out. I found it really hard to keep from serving myself more helpings of the dish. Then again, I didn’t want to have to deal with such thoughts as “What diet pills that actually work?” Not that I ever took diet pills because I never have and hopefully, never will. Anyway, I reminded myself to be mindful of the amount of food I eat, lest I want to get in trouble with the weighing scale yet again!
The Honey Cashew Shrimp recipe can be found here.
Cheers!!
