The last quarter of the year just leaves all of us busy as bees, doesn’t it.  But I have to admit, I specially love the last quarter of the year, more so this year when we have something special planned for the holidays.

Having said that, in between Christmas gift hunting, chores, menu planning, cake decorating and what nots, I feel I could use something like  medical carts to keep organized and so I could just easily roll my computer around with me.  Oh, just excuse the crazy idea! Hee hee! :)

I made cupcakes last week which took me home, albeit gastronomically.  They were Sugar Yam Cupcakes with Sweet Coconut Sport (Ube Cupcakes topped with Macapuno).  Ube and Macapuno just happen to be two of my favorite delicacies, sweet ones, from home.

In just a couple of weeks, I will be able to have my fill of my favorite sights, sounds and tastes from home, as in the real deal, when we come home for the holidays.  That, I dare say, is sweeter than any Disney vacation packages.  December just can’t come soon enough for me!

I made an Archer-themed cake, a green one at that,  for the 40th birthday of a friend.  I say a nicely decorated, baked-from-scratch cake is one of the most personalized gifts a friend can make for a friend, right? Right!

I’ve been decorating cakes as a hobby for over a year now, closing in to my second year actually.  I get a lot of practice doing my friends’ cakes and I’m really glad they let me.  Hopefully, this hobby turns into something that brings joy not only to my friends, family and me, but to my, er,  pockets as well.  Hee hee. :)

Fall is definitely here.  Save for the fact that it’s gotten harder to get up in the morning and harder even to go for that morning run, I’m loving the cooler mornings and evenings.  If you never got around to solving your home ventilation woes over the summer, I’m guessing they won’t get solved any time soon.

It is time to bring out the cool weather clothes and say a temporary buh-bye to the flipflops, tank tops, swimsuits and shorts. ‘Til next summer then? :)

Mabuhay, y’all!

Cupcake Decorator, that is.  Over a month ago, my daughter celebrated her birthday.  All she wanted to do was decorate cupcakes!  She didn’t want to go to the movies or Chuck E. Cheese’s or to have lunch out.  Cupcakes and dinner out.  Those were the only two things she wanted to do.  Her wishes were granted.

My daughter is becoming quite the cupcake/cake decorator.  I’m guessing I’ll be sharing my cake decorating tools with her soon, perhaps before I even find the right anti wrinkle lotion. Hee hee.

I look forward to doing more cake/cupcake projects with my daughter.  Fun and exciting times ahead!
