Not really!  At least not that bad that I will be needing the best sleep aid! Haha!  When I was still a little girl, I remember having a hard time sleeping whenever I get excited over something…my birthday, Christmas, an out of town trip, to name a few.  I still get excited over these very same things but if ever I’m sleepless, it’s because of poor time management. Hee hee. :D

Not too long ago, I made a Monster High-themed cake with a giant smokin’ test tube as one of the decorations.  The smoke’s coming from dry ice, in case you’re wondering, and not from macanudo cigars. Hee hee.  Anyway, I practically rolled on the floor laughing when somebody pointed out to me that my test tube looked like a big bong…a big smoking bong.  I really never thought of that before!  Ever!  Now I feel embarrassed and want to remove that post from my food blog.  But I won’t, as a reminder that I should be more careful with the decorations I put on my cakes. Hahaha! :P

November 7th was a pink day in Austin.  On that day, thousands participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  It was a cold morning, with temperatures in the low 40s.  Yet, one felt warm.  I did!  And my running attire (definitely warmer than just plain girls shorts!)  had nothing to do with it! :)   I ran in the timed 5K event with my husband and 2 of our dear friends. I raced in celebration of my Mom, a survivor, and of  family and friends who have had breast cancer.  With God’s grace, we will continue to race in years to come.  Hopefully, in my lifetime, a cure for breast cancer will be discovered.

It’s amazing how Halloween brings out our inner artist.  A friend of mine prepared this platter of edible (not to mention beautifully pedicured!) feet for our Halloween get together.   They kinda look like they’re from some horror blu ray movies, don’t they?  Well, maybe just a little.  But I have to say, these were good!  They’re actually perfect for snacks and breakfast, with a cup of coffee or warm cocoa. ;)

I put together this cupcake tower for one of two Halloween parties we attended. Half a dozen of these were Sugar Yam Cupcakes topped with sweet coconut sport (macapuno), while the other half dozen were Vanilla Chiffon Cupcakes.

I really do love how the cupcakes turned out, specially since this was just an experiment of some sort.  How many time have you seen macapuno that’s been tinted with black food color? Hee hee.

I hope and pray that someday soon, my passion for baking and cake decorating will lead me to a small business opportunity.  Okl, I take that back.  I’d love a huge and life-changing business opportunity!

Cheers and mabuhay, y’all!
