…who Vin Vin is? Well, I don’t! But I do know he or she has a small “cafe” at the Manila Domestic Airport terminal. Hee hee.
Do not be expecting designer furniture!
This little cafe sells warm dishes, mami, siopao, siomai and Red Ribbon products. A lot of hungry Sea Air and Zest Air passengers make a beeline for Vin Vin’s food to curb hunger pangs before boarding their flights. The prices were a shocker, of course, as all airport products are. But the food is decent tasting. My daughter loved the siomai and I, the ensaymada.
Mabuhay is the Filipino word for welcome. It also means “to live” and
“long live” (like when toasting a person, “Mabuhay ka!). It is one of my most favorite Filipino words.
Yesterday, while checking-in at a hotel, we were pleasantly surprised when we were served tall glasses of very cool and refreshing buco pandan juice. Mabuhay (welcome) drinks!
Just what we needed!
I like our hotel a lot. It’s new and the outdoor lighting by the pool is just awesome. I hope to post pictures and actually tell you where we are…soon.
