We.love.chicken. Come to think of it, who doesn’t? Frying is one of the simplest ways of  cooking chicken. I like making Japanese-style fried chicken, karaage. One time, I received a karaage mix sample in the mail, which simplified the entire process even more! And this is how the chicken turned out…

Yum! You can read more about it HERE.

Thank goodness we are not allergic (to chicken or any kind of food for that matter)!  We sure don’t want to land in one of ‘em food allergies austin clinics! Bok-bok=bok! :D

Cheers y’all!

One of 3 cakes I made with a fairy topper for the month of September was this cake, a Candy Land Cake!

This has got to be one of the most fun cakes I had the chance making. It was for the back-to-back birthday celebration of the daughters of good friends of ours. They had a game night of sort of thing going. None of the Gears of War 3 type of games though! Just fun, good old fashioned board games. *wink*

The birthday girls loved their shared cake, and so did their parents and other friends of ours present at the party. And that, for me, made all the hard work well worth it. ;)

Cheers!

A nurse friend of mine and her husband asked me to make a Fairy Garden – themed birthday cake for their daughter’s first birthday. Here’s that pink and purple cake…

I had so much fun making this cake. I made all the decorations ahead of time – around 2 days before the party. The cake, it’s safe to say, was very well-liked and received a lot of compliments from the birthday family’s relatives and friends (mostly nurses, and no, they were not in nurses uniforms!).

This is the 2nd of 3 cakes I made last month that had a fairy topper. ;)

Cheers, y’all!

This is Mia, the Bridesmaid Fairy, or at least, my fondant interpretation of her…

Mia is one of the many fairies from the children’s book series, Rainbow Fairies. Last month, I made a Rainbow Fairies themed cake for a little girl who was a big fan of the series and whose favorite fairy is Mia. I love how the fondant figure turned out, save maybe for the neck part, which could very well use a gold necklace. Haha! The hair could be a tad curly, too! Oh well. The bottom line is, the birthday girl and her mom loved the cake. And that’s all that matters. :)

Cheers, y’all!
