I’m a mom and I’m allowed to dream big for my daughter. Hee hee.  My little girl had a week-long tennis camp, which ended yesterday. It turned out to be a lot of fun – for her and for us, her parents. She didn’t need any coaxing to get ready and go to class, unlike for swimming. Hee hee. The camp location is about a 30-minute drive from where we live. And the community where it’s at, well, it’s just plain gorgeous. I would not mind living there at all! Hee hee. I will eagerly load all our stuff on some  material handling equipment, load them up in a truck and then move in to a home that we can call our own. But’ that’s a different dream all together, not to mention a different blog entry. Haha.

I’m glad my daughter had a blast at camp. She wants to do it again next month. Most likely, she will. Tennis greats aren’t made in a day  - or even a week! – at camp.

We had a fun pajama party two weeks ago in celebration of my daughter’s birthday no. 6.  I made her birthday cake myself, of course!  It was appropriately themed for the party.   The cake was Mocha Chiffon Marble Cake, her special request, filled and frosted with Italian Meringue Buttercream.

We granted my 6-year old’s birthday wish.  It wasn’t really all that hard to grant.  She didn’t ask for anything outrageous for her age, say, loose diamonds. Hee hee.

The party was super fun, just as we had hoped it would be.  Cheers, y’all!

My little girl wants a computer of her own for her birthday.  She was smart enough to trade a party somewhere other than our house for a present that is really useful. Hopefully, I’ll find a nice little notebook as attractively priced as wholesale computers. 

The hard work she and her dad have put into their afternoon practices have definitely paid off.  I am so proud of my daughter who never ceases to amaze me.  I knew somehow that she will learn to ride a bike this summer.  And I was right. My little girl is growing up too fast!  When she hits her teenage years, I hope she won’t have the need for best acne products, flawless that is right now.  I shouldn’t really worry about those things just yet.  For now, I will continue enjoying being my daughter’s best friend and number 1 fan.

It’s no secret that I don’t let her play with make-up and nail polish.  Call me old fashioned or the ultimate killer of little girls’ joys but that’s just the rule.  You can just imagine how ecstatic my little girl was when we were invited to a Hollywood-themed birthday party.   She got to have her hair done, her face made-up and her nails polished.  After all the “works”, the little girls all got to strut down a red carpet.  So for a few hours, my little girl didn’t feel deprived.  Hee hee.

It was a fun party and I ate so much!  Not good! Hgh pills are sounding good to me right now. Not!!!

For the girls, I decorated the cupcakes with colorful, summer-y flowers.  For the boys, I made simple shark-themed cupcakes.

I had a bit of a problem making the french buttercream (frosting).  The heat made it difficult for the buttercream to form and become stiff.  It was quite stressful, I must say, as I was pressed for time.  I was afraid I’ll need wrinkle cream by the time I was done.

Everything turned out well in the end.  Whew!

Get it now?  By “liyin”, my daughter meant “lion”.  Don’t laugh if you don’t want used golf balls to be flying your way!  Hahaha!  You know how little kids are taught to spell as they pronounce or sound out the letters/syllables of a word.  I did ask her about the stripes.  I told her lions don’t have stripes.  She simply answered with her biggest, sweetest smile.  Liyin…that’s me.  Roarrrrr!

Whoa, ” Draw 50 Buildings and Other Structures”!  She said she wanted to practice drawing buildings so she can be an architect just like her mommy. Awww.   The book contains step by step illustrations on how to draw famous buildings/structures, from the Empire State Building to the Taj Mahal, palaces and I think a few glass and metal buildings.  For now, my daughter is pretty sure she wants to be an architect, kinda like I was so sure I was going to be a doctor when I was her age.

It did feel like April Fools when my daughter came home looking like a puppy on the 101st day of school.  I sent her to school in a black and white ensemble and she came home looking like an adorable dalmatian.

Arf! Arf!

I wonder what hubby’s thinking?  “How to prevent hair loss?” Hee hee.  My little girl received a salon showcase from Santa last Christmas.  It wasn’t exactly what she asked.  The one she really wanted was out of stock not being produced at that time according to Santa’s elves for, uhm, safe reasons.   The other day, my daughter asked if she’s still going to get the present she asked from Santa.  All the while, I thought she has already forgotten about it!  Hmmm….I have to check with the elves. *sigh*
