We’re staying put this summer, reserving more exciting travel (outside of Texas, that is!)  for the latter part of the year.  Nevertheless, we are enjoying and loving every bit of our STAYCATION.  I love that every now and then, we get wonderful surprises from Mother Nature herself!  Take this beautiful sight for example…

Well, hello, sunset!  How’s that for an outdoor fireplace?  I took this photos using hubby’s I-phone while driving home.  And we didn’t even have to spend a penny for this wonderful treat! :)

Cheers!

On February 23rd, neither new nor  used golf balls were flying over this golf course.  The reason is quite obvious…miracles or all miracles, it snowed in Austin! :)   We’ve been living in Austin for a few years now and this was the first time we’ve ever seen this much snow.  It was snowing the entire day and we loved it, my 5 year old most specially.  It will probably take a couple of years before it snows this much again.  Although, I certainly hope not. :)   Just one fine day of snow is all we ask…for the little kids to make their snowmen…and for us kids at heart. ;)

A week-and-a-half ago, hubby and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. Yup, it’s our lucky 8th!  More than lucky, we are blessed…always have been.  For that, we are truly truly grateful.  Thank you, God.

The above photo was taken last November in hubby’s home office (which is in dire need of modern office furniture).  I love how this photo came out.  Thank you IPhone. :)

Happy New Year, y’all!  I hope you had a wonderful New Year’s celebration (and didn’t have to file claims with Blue Cross Blue Shield NC due to firecracker-related accidents!)

New Year has always been a big deal for my family.  We always make sure there’s plenty of food on the table, ones that symbolize prosperity.  We always have noisemakers and sparklers on hand to drive away evil spirits unwanted vibes.  We also always make it a point to count the money we have on hand, even the ones in the piggy banks.  My Mom and I even scatter peso bills on the bed and roll in them.  Hee hee.  Crazy weird, I agree!  ;)   The list goes on and on.

May the year 2010 bring  lots of love, laughter, peace and prosperity to us all.

Cheers and God bless!

Almost every week since the week of Thanksgiving, we’ve been finding ourselves in fun fun feasts – from the most intimate (just family) to a full-blown Filipino fiesta.  By the time the holiday season is over, I’ll probably already be considering gulping down weight loss supplements.

It’s a cultural thing, I guess.  We love an excuse to get-together…an excuse to eat and be merry…to live, laugh and love.  In the middle of all these celebrations, let’s be sure to not forget THE reason for the season. ;)

Cheers!
