WS #23: Fab Four

It doesn’t seem too long ago when Hubby and I were checking out strollers at baby stores.  Yesterday, that baby we were shopping a stroller for turned 4.

Abby belongs to a very small number of children here in the US who still sleep in the master bedroom. :D  After midnight of the 17th, I readied her room (Yes, she has one of her own!) for an early morning birthday celebration.  I laid out all our presents for her on the bed.

In previous birthdays, Abby opened her presents after dinner.  She eagerly embraced this slight deviation from our usual birthday routine.  Hee hee.

Before she opened her presents, Hubby and I present her with a birthday cake, my other Weekend Snapshot entry.

Have a fab week ahead!  Cheers!

WS #16: Father’s Day Loots

Hubby got a lot of meaningul loots for Father’s Day.  On Friday, Abby brought home her school projects which were meant to be her presents for her Dad.  Hubby came home from a business trip late Friday night and Abby was already sound asleep.  But the very moment Abby woke up on Saturday morning, she had to wake up her dad as well and led him to her room where we hid surprises:

One was a “World’s Greatest Dad” certificate.  I don’t think Abby did the writings on this though because she mostly uses capital letters when she writes. :)

Abby’t other present was a coffemug, which she decorated herself with help from one of her teachers, of course. :)  Hubby and I are avid coffee drinkers and this gift suits Hubby really well. :)  Here’s a shot of one side of the mug…

…and this is the other side. :)

At St. Albert the Great, our parish church, dads also got very meaningful loots.  I think these are way better than the roses we moms got on Mother’s Day…not that I’m complaining!

Hubby got bookmarks, a pen, a refrigerator magnet (the cross) and my favorite, the ring rosary with the image of St. Joseph and the Baby Jesus. :)

Abby and I treated the man of the house for lunch at Outback Steakhouse, my other WS entry.  Do visit other WS participants, here.

Have a wonderful new week, y’all! :D

WS #10: Camera Shy?

These pics of my daughter were taken over lunch yesterday at Pappasito’s

We thought at first she was just being overly camera shy.  We only realized what was going on when the couple at the table next to us stood up to leave and the nice lady approached our table.  She said Abby is so adorable and she can’t help staring at her.  So she was the one who caused this sudden camera shyness of Abby.  She said she admires Abby for being well-behaved.  Hahaha.

Here’s a pic of Abby taken after that lady and her husband left…

Tadaaaa!  So nice to be free…I thought she could be thinking.  Hee hee.

Do you love Tex-Mex food, too?  Check out my other WS HERE.  Moroe WS participants HERE.

WW #11: New Family Toy

“getting to know you” moment at the car dealership on pick-up day (10 April 2008)

happy father and daughter in their new toy….the happy mother, that would be me, took this pic. :D

Thank you, God for this wonderful gift.

I have another WW entry HERE.  More Wordless Wednesday HERE.

WS #5: Easter

Happy Easter!!! And have I got a lot of photos for this week’s Weekend Snapshot/s! :D

Saturday, 08 March 2008

We were at the mall by 9am on 08 March, Saturday, so my daughter, Abby, can participate in the Easter activities organized by the mall’s Kidgits Club. Compared to the last holiday-themed activity at the mall, which was Christmas, there were fewer kids that particular Saturday morning. I guess the lure of Santa is far stronger than that of the Easter Bunny. ;) But the organizers did make sure that the morning’s activities were well worth getting up early for.

This is a hanging ornament that Abby made that Saturday. I love the mosaic-ish effect of this handmade craft. :D It’s a small plastic plate onto which Abby glued pieces of colored paper. And just in case you were wondering, we didn’t have anything to do with the egg drawings on the plate, which were cute anyway. :)

Abby is very serious with her art activites, as you can very well see.

And here she is, proud of her finished work. I had to remind her so many times that she has to wait for the glue to dry.

As expected, the Easter Bunny was present and gave every child an opportunity to have a photo taken with him. I’m so glad Abby has overcome her fear of mascots. ;)

Like in December, the kids were treated to a light breakfast by Chick-fil-A. :) Goody bags were also handed out to the kids and the moms. Not bad, ei?

Saturday, 15 March 08

The very next Saturday at 11am, we were yet in another Easter activity…bigger and a lot more fun. Our subdivision’s social community organized an Easter Egg Hunt at the main park. There were giant inflatables, which a lot of the kids enjoyed to the max, and free Culver’s Ice Cream for everyone!

Colorful eggs sprouted everywhere…all of which had a treat or special prize inside.
I spotted an egg-bearing tree. Hee hee!

And Abby happily picked that blue egg from the tree. ;)

Here she is with her loots. The egg hunt started at 11:30am and was over in less than two minutes, believe it or not! :D
Abby posses with the Easter Bunny, yet again. :D
From Thursday last week until the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening, we were able to focus on the more meaningful aspect of Easter, which I shared here.
My other entry’s up, too! You’ll find it here. I’m excited to see what the other participants posted this week. So come and join me as I hop on here for more of Weekend Snapshot. Have a great week, everyone! :D
Photo Hunt #1 - Party

This is my first Photo Hunt entry. I’m glad this week’s photo hunt theme didn’t really require one bit of hunting on my part. I didn’t dare try come up with something creative and took the theme as it is. I had the perfect party photos already…those of Abby’s first birthday party 3 and 1/2 years ago. :D

Abby’s first birthday was really special as first birthdays should be (and all other birthdays should be, too!) It was a gathering of our closest friends and relatives. Hubby and I chose a circus-theme. We had a party host/magician dressed in a ringmaster costume, waiters dressed in clown costumes, tons of party games, a bubble show, a pinata pull and a balloon burst. Well, enough talking. Here are some PARTY pics…
birthday song and candle blowing time
souvenir pic with the grand parents
souvenir pic with the “circus audience”…our kiddie guests
the pinata pull
kids getting ready for the balloon burst
mad scramble for small balloons marked with special prizes
Of course, a party is never complete without food. :) I posted the party chow at my other photo hunt entry. ;)
Note: All photos are by our good friend, Owee Salva.
