Two weeks ago, I made bundt cakes for the birthday of two of my friends.  I’ve been meaning to use my never-been-used bundt pan bought towards the end of last year.

For Friend #1, I made a Carrot Bundt Cake with Honey Cream Cheese Frosting….

For Friend #2, who just absolutely loves chocolate, I made a chocolatey chocolate bundt cake, which I am aptly naming Chocoholic’s Dream Bundt Cake…

I’m pleased with how the bundt cakes came up.  If only I could turn this hubby into a successful home business. Then again, why not?! *cross fingers*

Last February 9th was the 101st day of school at the elementary school my daughter attends.  Kindergarten parents were asked to dress their children in black and white as the kindergartens will be observing a 101 Dalmatians theme.  I thought that was a cool idea!  So I dressed my little girl in layers of white long-sleeved shirt and black short sleeved shirt and white skirt and tights.  I was pleasantly surprised when  my daughter got home from school…

My puppy girl! Hee hee. :)   This day reminded me of our very first visit to the The Long Center to watch our very first Broadway production, The 101 Dalmatians The Musical.

It was quite an experience and we had a blast.  Never mind if we were seated way up there…up where we can see everything, including all the exit signs.  We hope to catch another performance at the Long Center sometime soon.

Ruff!  Ruff!

This photo was taken on Christmas morning.  My little girl was happy to receive a salon showcase from Santa.  She really wanted the dresser with lights but the elves stopped making them due to safety reasons (read: the darned things were out-of-stock for most of the holiday season!).  Still, she was giddy with excitement with the replacement toys she got. Next year, Santa will not be caught dead scrambling for presents or falling in line before the crack of dawn for coveted toys. *cross fingers*

That’s right!  We had a crabby first day of the year!  But not in any negative way whatsoever. ;)   In fact, it was a yummy crabby day!

For lunch on New Year’s Day, we feasted on Steamed Dungeness Crabs, not in a fancy seafood restaurant, but in our very own home!  Check out the crab fat!…

Oooh la la!  We got these crabs at the Asian Supermarket for only around $15.00!  Not bad at all!  We are all looking forward to our next crabby day.

PS.  Eat crabs in moderation or you might as well start asking  for life insurance quotes now! Hee hee. :P

Happy New Year, y’all!  I hope you had a wonderful New Year’s celebration (and didn’t have to file claims with Blue Cross Blue Shield NC due to firecracker-related accidents!)

New Year has always been a big deal for my family.  We always make sure there’s plenty of food on the table, ones that symbolize prosperity.  We always have noisemakers and sparklers on hand to drive away evil spirits unwanted vibes.  We also always make it a point to count the money we have on hand, even the ones in the piggy banks.  My Mom and I even scatter peso bills on the bed and roll in them.  Hee hee.  Crazy weird, I agree!  ;)   The list goes on and on.

May the year 2010 bring  lots of love, laughter, peace and prosperity to us all.

Cheers and God bless!
