Happy Easter! It’s Easter Wednesday so yes, I can still greet you all a very Happy Easter! :) We had a very glorious Easter celebration. We escaped not too far away from home, just an hour-long drive for some short but sweet rest and recreation. I loved every minute of it. I also love the fact that I didn’t have to lay-around under the hot hot sun for that sun-kissed look. The rewards of being a naturally sun-kissed. No need for the best airbrush tanning solution for this Pinay. Haha! A two-day get-away was too short. Already looking forward to our next R&R, wherever and whenever that is. ;)

Cheers, y’all!

My darling daughter celebrated her birthday a few weeks ago. We surprised her with a Dance and Glitz and Glam-themed birthday party. One of the day’s biggest surprises was THE ride that took her and her gal pals to a surprise location…

This ride needs no handheld gps. Hee hee. :) The surprise location was a kiddie salon, where the girls had their hair, nails and make-up done. They also got to play dress-up and had a mini fashion show at the end their hour-long make-over. I still feel tingly all over when I think back to that special celebration. Thank you, dear God, for all the blessings!

We had a “play date” with friends of ours very early in the evening yesterday. Thanks to a Groupon deal that my gal pal was able to snag, we got to cruise on the Lady Bird Lake in a nice 10-12 seater boat. I have yet to download the photos from my camera, which should explain the photo-less entry.

The little girls had the most fun…and so did the dads who literally became captains of their (rented) ship.  It’s really just a boat and not a ship! ;) This kids had a wonderful wonderful time.  I wonder if they will find riding in a child-appropriate ATV and tinkering with ATV Accessoriesto be as much fun. Well, we parents will probably just stick to doing fun activities that we are very much familiar with. :D

Cheers, y’all!

Summer doesn’t officially start until a few more days from today.  But since  the 2010-2011 school year ended at 11am last Friday in my daughter’s school, for us, it already IS summer. :)  I’m also excited for my friends whose kids graduated this year be it from middle school, high school and college.  I join the college graduates in triumphantly waving their college flags, albeit virtually.

The end of school coincided with the arrival of one of our dearest friends whom we haven’t seen in over 4 years.  My now-second-grader was just as eager as hubby and I to give our guest a little tour of Downtown Austin.  We took him to the Texas State Capitol, which we last visited in April 2010.

We’ve visited this landmark so many times already, yet, I still find myself in awe of this structure every single time.  One very visible change since our last visit is the security check at the building entrance.  People used to be able to freely enter and leave the building without any security checks.  I wonder if there was an incident that prompted this change.  Anyway, it isn’t really much of hassle.

I still need to fill our summer calendar with activities my daughter and we, as a family, will enjoy. I hope to find things for us to do, which will not necessarily break the bank. Wish me luck! :)

“Me and my teddy; getting all ready; getting all ready to play…”

These are words to a song from Barney and Friends. ;)  I was humming this song while I worked on this diaper cake for the baby shower of a friend who’s having a baby boy…

This diaper cake was one of two personalized / personal gifts for him (the soon-to-be-born prince) and for the glowing mommy.  There are 50 pieces of size 2 diapers in this cake plus a 4-piece set of baby apparel and 2 pairs of socks. What was the other gift, you might ask?  Cake of course! *wink*
