March 12, 2010

Ok, so spring does not officially start until the 20th of March here in the Northern Hemisphere.  But it definitely feels like spring already!  Not too long ago, I was keeping my hands warm via a hug mug filled with hot chocolate…

They could still use the warmth from a hug mug specially in the mornings.  But the weather has just turned gorgeous.  I’m guessing,  stores are  now happily enjoying seeing their epson receipt printers hard at work as people make purchases for spring and summer. :)   I love spring, when it’s comfortable to go and enjoy the outdoors pretty much any time of the day.  Spring doesn’t last very long in Texas.  We have to take advantage!  And we most definitely will! ;)

Have you ever been roused from happy slumber at an ungodly hour because you thought you heard voices?  Well, don’t look now, but you might have heard voices after all.  Where were they coming from?  From the very thing you were laying your sleepy head on…your pillow!  Specifically, from the teeny tiny uninvited creatures that have made your pillow their home!  Dust mites!  Dangerous bacteria!  Fungus!  This is your cue to say “Eeeeew!”

You don’t have to take my word for it.  Here, watch and listen to an expert:

Now, do you believe me?  The video did freak me out a little and almost had me buying allergy pillows that very moment!  However, the price of allergy pillows freaked me out almost as much as finding out that my pillow was a breeding ground for dust mites!

After I’ve recovered from the initial shock of finding out how much a Healthy Dream Germ Fighting Pillow costs, I was able to think more objectively.  Come to think of it, it’s a most worthy investment.  You won’t have to worry about resting your head on mite/bacteria/mold/dust infested pillows again.  The sad truth is, mold, bacteria and dust mites begin growing in our pillows as soon as we start using them. Over time, the problem just gets worse!   Because as we sleep, we breathe moisture into our pillows.

I guess I have no choice but to buy our way to peaceful and healthy slumber, even if it’s just one pillow at a time.  I’ll start with my daughter’s pillows.  And until all our pillows have been replaced, I’ll be sure to wash our beddings once a week at the very least. *sigh*

Two weeks ago, the lens I ordered online arrived…

I love it!  Ever since I got a taste of using a prime lens and saw the gorgeous, crisp photos it was capable of producing, it was prime lens love for me.  You see, almost since day 1 of owning my dslr, a friend of mine graciously lent me his 50mm lens.  Alas, time came for me and the 50mm lens to part.  Huhu. :P

I rarely use my kit lens now.  Photos taken with a prime lens are much clearer, so clear in fact that one can’t really hide behind an anti wrinkle face cream.  Scary, huh? Hee hee. :D

This car and garage make such a lovely pair.  Hee hee.  Seriously, I think they’re cute!  The car, as I mentioned two posts down, belong to my little girl’s Zhu-Zhu pets. ;)   The garage, in case you’re wondering, requires no door hardware.  They simply snap in place. I can’t help but giggle along with my daughter whenever Jilly or Num-Nums come through the garage doors, and mind you, without any help!  Kids of today have some of the coolest toys, really. :D

You don’t believe me?  Here, see for yourself…

Hee hee. :P   This hour glass was in the loot bag my little girl got from a recent visit to the dentist.  But seriously, time really IS gold.  So live your life to the fullest and live each day as if it were your last.  Don’t waste your time stressing on minor life glitches…if only because stress might just lead to female pattern hair loss. :P   Make time for people who and things that matter. ;)
