My daughter and I go on a lot of impromptu dates.  They’re not very elaborate, really.  This summer, we went to the community pool a couple of times, just she and I.  Sometimes we’re at McDonald’s.  Other times we’re at the neighborhood yogurt shoppe.  Sometimes, we’re at Quiznos (the way to go if you want to how to lose weight fast). I really do believe parents should spend some time with their kids in a special way.  But you know that already.

We enjoyed the movie, but I personally like Toy Story 3 more.

After the movies, my girl and I went window shopping for a while, until I snagged a very attractively priced pair of shoes. *winnk*  I love the Domain 2, because believe it or not, the shops there have stuff people can actually afford.  Some shops even have blac label clothing.

The hard work she and her dad have put into their afternoon practices have definitely paid off.  I am so proud of my daughter who never ceases to amaze me.  I knew somehow that she will learn to ride a bike this summer.  And I was right. My little girl is growing up too fast!  When she hits her teenage years, I hope she won’t have the need for best acne products, flawless that is right now.  I shouldn’t really worry about those things just yet.  For now, I will continue enjoying being my daughter’s best friend and number 1 fan.

The highlight of these outdoor playdates, as far as my daughter is concerned, is the time she gets to play in the playscape.  Experts say that children should have at least an hour of active play time, which is exercise in disguise.   This early, we’re already teaching our daughter the importance of exercise and healthy eating.   Hopefully, when she’s older, she wouldn’t have to look for effective abs workout dvds (which I’m always guilty of!) as she will already have a healthy and fit body.

So they’re tiny, hee hee.   We could have made bigger ones but that would mean disturbing the tiny patches of land fronting the homes of our neighbors.  They might not have wanted that.  Soft balls of ice like these one are a welcome change to the golf-ball to base-ball sized hail that came down from the heavens last year.  I can just imagine the rise in demand for auto insurance quotes after that hailstorm!  Yes to a day of snow.  No to even a few seconds of rock-hard hail!

We got ourselves a new toy about two to three weeks ago, the Wii Sports Resort.  With the old Wii Sports, we took virtual ski vacations.  With the Wii Sports Resort, we go on virtual beach holidays.  Hee hee.   Except for archery, my daughter beats me in all the other games…and I’m not even letting her win!  *sigh*

Last Christmas, my daughter was the very happy recipient of Zhu-Zhu pets.  Hubby and I had to fall in line at several stores at an ungodly  hour just to get our hands on those popular toys.  Because they were a bit hard to find, I got a little carried away and bought 7 of the 9 Zhu-Zhu pets.  I became a little obsessed, I guess.    In addition to the pets, we got a few accessories as well.

Now that the holiday season is over, it is easier to get a hold of these pets.  But our family is now on mission to complete the accessories.  Obsessed, I tell you!  About two weeks ago, we got the garage and car.  Our little girl was very thrilled…and so were Hubby and I.  One thing’s for sure, we wouldn’t have to worry about mechanical breakdown insurance for this car.  We’re on the hunt for more accessories.

I was pleasantly surprised with the number of people I saw at the lake!  At least, many are making an effort to get off their behinds and do something with valuable health benefits, us included!  People were walking, jogging or biking on the trail around the lake.  People of all ages from children, to adults to couples to moms and dads with baby jogger city strollers to groups to individuals were very well represented.  It was a good day all right.  And my family’s gonna be bonding like this a lot from now on.

These past few days have brought us beautiful sunny days and last weekend, we got movin’.  Late Saturday afternoon, hubby, little daughter and I spent an hour outdoors, just around our neighborhood.  The little girl was on her bike while hubby and I jogged/walked alongside her.  We did this for a total of 2.8 miles to and from our house.  We had so much fun that the next day, we found ourselves at the Lady Bird Lake in Downtown Austin.  We did a little over 4 miles on Sunday.  Soon, we hope to do the entire 10miles around the Lady Bird Lake.   If I maintain this level of activity, I dare say I won’t be needing hydroxycut after all. Hee hee.

You can very well tell by his posture that the game isn’t quite going his way. Hee hee.  While Hubby and I were screaming, “Sack ‘em!” at the TV, our little girl was at one end of the living room center table busy with something else…

She’s a Longhorns fan, too, but still way too young to focus on a football game.  So she just busied herself with insurance quotes. Kidding! She’s really playing an online game for kids.   Every once in a while, she would stop, look at the tv and ask who’s winning.   Ahh, kids.
