We were up and about really early last Saturday, October 23rd. Hubby and I participated in the Livestrong Challenge 5k Run here in Austin, TX. It was hubby’s first 5k while it was my 2nd, the first being the Schlotzsky’s Bun Run last May.
Hubby and I tried our best to get ourselves ready for the Livestrong Challenge by running at least three times a week. Our natural fat burners, hopefully were working as hard as we did. In a little over a week, we will be running in another 5K. This time, it’s for the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure. It’s going to be one heck of a fun race!
Cheers!

Bulaga is like the English “boo”! In the Philippines, that’s what’s often said when trying to sneak up to someone with the purpose of scaring or startling them. I thought I’d combine the two words and come up with a new one…”Boo-laga!” Hee hee. It’s been a while since this blog has been updated…so boolaga comes as a fitting greeting as well. Haha!
Speaking of boo and bulaga, let me show off Hubby’s and my handy halloween works of pumpkin art…
Not bad for first timers, ei? The mini pumpkins are mine and the huge ones are hubby’s. We’ve been living in the US for over two years now and it’s about time we conquered our fear of pumpkin carving!
The truth of the matter is, I volunteered hubby to participate in the “Pumpkin Carving with Daddy” activity in our little girl’s school. To get ready for his public pumpkin carving debut, which fell on the Friday before Halloween, hubby “practiced” on Thursday night. The result is that pumpkin with the skull. What seemed like a daunting task turned out to be not so daunting after all. This is easier than replacing Mopar parts…I think…well, maybe depending on who one is talking to. Hee hee.
It looks like carving pumpkins will now be a family tradition. Like I said…it’s about time.

Almost exactly a year ago, on June 18th, I posted the entry “Better Luck Next Year”. And true enough, they did have better luck this year! Millions of people all over the world were probably glued to their televisions for the duration of the game. Hubby couldn’t be happier for his team. He’s been a huge fan of the Lakers since he was a little boy. I’m guessing he’ll wear this cap a lot for the next few days…proudly at that!

…is a song that Hubby probably won’t be singing to me if his car were a Ferrari. Hubby is a fan of fast cars, which is why he loves watching F1 races. Well, at least he used to be able to watch the races. But we’re in Nascar country now and F1 isn’t so big here.
A Ferrari is definitely on my list of “thing to buy for hubby” if and when I win the lotto, hopefully, tomorrow. Hee hee. Never mind if Ferrari parts cost a lot.
Thank God it’s free to dream. *sigh*
