(I.Love.Chocolate. One of my most memorable dessert experiences is when I tasted Truluck’s famous dessert, the Chocolate Sack.)

(The “sack” is Hershey’s milk chocolate and inside, it is filled with yellow sponge cake, lots of blueberries, lots of strawberries, and cream cheese frosting.)

(Our server gave me all the time in the world to take photos of the sack. After I was satisfied with the amount of photos I got, he went ahead to cut the dessert.)

(The chocolate was thick and the only way for us to be able to eat is to have it cut into pieces using a sharp knife.)

(After all the slicing, chocolate was drizzled on the already chocolatey goodness of a heavenly dessert…)

(Tadaa! Now all ready for the taking! We took home about half of the dessert. It was just impossible to finish it all even if there were four of us feasting on it.)

I wonder if there’s a restaurant along the North Carolina Outer Banks rentals serving a similar dessert. Just a thought.

oOo
Once upon a time, I was a student of Architecture. I loved learning about the world’s greatest architects, their works and the inspiration behind them. It often surprised me that simple, ordinary, everyday objects were often the inspiration to numerous notable structures around the globe. Like these…

What building do these oranges remind you of? Nothing? Maybe this will trigger something…

There. How about that? Any structure in mind? Maybe it will help if I cut off a portion from each of the segments and arrange them a certain way…

Here’s another pic…

Believe it or not, mandarin segments, in addition to sails on a yacht and ribbed palm leaves served as inspiration to the design of the Sydney Opera House.

This marvel of architecture was designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon. Ain’t he great?
By the way, don’t forget to rince your oranges before eating them, ok? It doesn’t matter whether your sink has Moen faucets or another brand.

“Twinkle, twinkle little stars. How I wonder what you are?”

We visited the Trail of Lights for the second year in a row. Come to think of it, we’ve only been living in Texas for almost two years.
It is a fun attraction. It won’t remind you so much of the City of Lights nor of your Vegas vacations, but I consider it to be an Austin “must see” during the holiday season. It definitely gives visitors a good shot of holiday cheer.

(The warmth from this fire was very welcoming that one cold December night when we visited the Trail of Lights. The Trail of Lights is a yearly attraction at Zilker Park here in Austin. Near the parking lot and what I’d like to call the main gathering space before one enters the trail is a fenced bonfire. People gather around the fire to keep warm before and after viewing the beautiful light display at the trail.)
