Mabuhay is the Filipino word for welcome. It also means “to live” and
“long live” (like when toasting a person, “Mabuhay ka!). It is one of my most favorite Filipino words.
Yesterday, while checking-in at a hotel, we were pleasantly surprised when we were served tall glasses of very cool and refreshing buco pandan juice. Mabuhay (welcome) drinks!
Just what we needed!
I like our hotel a lot. It’s new and the outdoor lighting by the pool is just awesome. I hope to post pictures and actually tell you where we are…soon.

Not really! At least not that bad that I will be needing the best sleep aid! Haha! When I was still a little girl, I remember having a hard time sleeping whenever I get excited over something…my birthday, Christmas, an out of town trip, to name a few. I still get excited over these very same things but if ever I’m sleepless, it’s because of poor time management. Hee hee.

November 7th was a pink day in Austin. On that day, thousands participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. It was a cold morning, with temperatures in the low 40s. Yet, one felt warm. I did! And my running attire (definitely warmer than just plain girls shorts!) had nothing to do with it!
I ran in the timed 5K event with my husband and 2 of our dear friends. I raced in celebration of my Mom, a survivor, and of family and friends who have had breast cancer. With God’s grace, we will continue to race in years to come. Hopefully, in my lifetime, a cure for breast cancer will be discovered.

My daughter is so fortunate to have a teacher who is so sweet and patient. The sweetness isn’t limited to just the kids! It also extends to us parents, specially those who volunteer in class.
Last month, I helped cover textbooks for my daughter’s class. It’s something I was happy to do. And to show her appreciation, my daughter’s teacher gave me a goody bag…

What a treat! I love chocolates and I munched on a few pieces while I was covering books.
Yum!
We are now into the second nine weeks of school. The holidays will be here before we know it! I won’t be hanging christmas garlands this year. And for good reason!
Cheers!

We were up and about really early last Saturday, October 23rd. Hubby and I participated in the Livestrong Challenge 5k Run here in Austin, TX. It was hubby’s first 5k while it was my 2nd, the first being the Schlotzsky’s Bun Run last May.
Hubby and I tried our best to get ourselves ready for the Livestrong Challenge by running at least three times a week. Our natural fat burners, hopefully were working as hard as we did. In a little over a week, we will be running in another 5K. This time, it’s for the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure. It’s going to be one heck of a fun race!
Cheers!
