I wasn’t always a stay-at-home mom. Before we moved to Texas, I was designing home decor for the family-owned business. We export metal sculptures, both functional and decorative, to other countries…to Europe and the US mostly. In my eight years as product designer, I consider these balcony frames to be my babies…

Design ideas pop into my head in the same way visions come to clairvoyants – abrupt and inexplicable. Hahaha! Balcony scenes in a residential building, say a condominium or a hotel, was the main concept for these wall decorations. I designed 10 different scenes in all but was only able to bring 9 with us here in Texas. Of the 10 balcony frames, three of them made it to a store chain in the US – ZGallerie. They are the following:

“Balcony Conversations”

“Painter on the Balcony”

These three frames had a good 4-year run with the the store. For a fun that long, I wonder if they ever made it to las vegas hotels. Hahaha. But it doesn’t really matter.

Enjoy the rest of the Thanksgiving weekend!

This photo makes me want to break into song. Do you know the song Reflection from the animated movie, Mulan:“Who is that girl I see, staring straight, back at me? Why is my reflection someone, I don’t know?” Hee hee.

These photos were taken four years ago at a halloween party meant for kids. But look at these scary lot from the underworld who are employees of the resort.

They are scary indeed! Too scary it’s downright cruel! Some of the “actors” were even wearing colored contact lenses for the full scary effect! I don’t know what possessed the organizers to come up with this concept.

That’s my niece, Macy, in the fairy costume. She’s always been a brave little girl.

Would you accept treats from this, uhm, whatever it is! The girl in the angel costume is also my niece, Kylah.

And here is my traumatized niece, Sophie, who was only 2 years old that time. Poor supergirl!

My 3 nieces have already grown so much since this trick or treat event four years ago.

Have a fabulous weekend!

From the spot where we stood, we had a perfect view of two very distinct bodies of water in the distance. Can you spot them?

It was chilly but this hiker wouldn’t hear of wearing a jacket!

I took this photo on the 12th of July during the drive to Mammoth. I used my very old point and shot Canon camera . It was a more or less 5-hour drive (it felt like sooo much more than 5!) from West Covina. See the road which seem to just stretch on and on and on. Thank God for the beautiful view that kept us company the whole time!

The second photo was taken in Mammoth. It can get empty during the summer. But I hear that’s not the case during winter because Mammoth, after all, is a winter destination.

I haven’t joined the Photo Hunt in the last 2 weeks. I’m glad I have photos for this week’s theme, “Wild”. The following photos were taken in March at the Natural Bridge and Wildlife Ranch in San Antonio, TX. It was my family’s first time to experience a zoo in reverse, so to speaks, with us in the car (windows down) and the animals freely roaming around. Abby had so much fun feeding the animals by her window. We have to do this again. Perhaps when the weather is more conducive for outdoor activities.

This week’s Photo Hunt theme is “beautiful”. And when I think beautiful, Abby, my daughter, is the first to come to mind. That will always be the case. So this is another stagemommy entry for me. Hee hee.

This is a photo from Abby’s very first photo shoot, taken about a month after she was born.

And here is a photo collage from that same photo shoot.

I prepared these loots for my daughter’s birthday party which is just a few hours from now. As much as I can, I tried to keep a princess theme going, a request from my 4-year old Abby.

However, I can’t very well do the same for the boys’ loots.

It kinda bothers me that it looks like the boys have more loots than the girls. Actually, the girls have more, only they’re a little too dainty and tiny (rings, necklaces, hair accessories, et.c) that they easily fit into the cups.

I specially like wrapping giveaways this way…in a see-through cellophane wrap/bag with the opening wrinkled or bunched together and tied with ribbons. I didn’t have time to use and tie curly ribbons. I just opted for the silver wire-like ties that came with the bags.

I have wrinkled food for my other PH entry. Visit other PH participants here.
